Tell us about your work experience and your studies

I’m a 2nd year law student at LSE, and I work night shifts at the Zoo Bar & Club as a bartender.

2. What is your daily routine?

I’d wake up, go to uni, do some work in between lectures and classes, go to the gym, then in the evening I’d either be jamming with my band (I sing for a funk band) or chilling at home with some friends.

3. Tell us about a time when you were entrepreneurial

As a starting musician I am always under pressure to be entrepreneurial, as I must initiate contact with other musicians, market and promote my music through various means. Recently I played gig for which I created facebook pages, distributed flyers and recorded sample tracks to promote it. Tickets were sold out and it was a huge success!

4. Who is your greatest inspiration and why?

My greatest inspiration is Christina Aguilera. I believe that women should be able to embrace their sexuality while being independent and strong, and she demonstrates all those through her musical prowess, which I highly admire.

5. What is the one thing that you couldn’t live without?

My piano. I love singing and playing, so much so that without my piano, well.. I probably won’t die but I’d feel very lost.

6. What personal qualities do you think that you could bring to the competition?

Well I’m a pretty relaxed person.. So I might induce a sense of tranquility in the otherwise competitive and potentially hostile environment? :P

7. What would winning the competition mean to you?

Winning this competition would mean something real amazing to me. Real real amazing.

8. If there was one thing you could change about the fashion industry, what would it be?

It’d be the domination of the market by big brand names. Obviously the top designers got to where they are because they are genuinely talented and hard-working, but as it is, I feel that the way in to the industry for young and new designers is too narrow, especially in high fashion. So perhaps there could be more small-scaled fashion shows whereby starting designers can show off their work.

9. If you could be the face of any charitable organisation, what would it be and why?

I believe that everyone deserves a chance for a better life, especially children. I also believe that education is the key in doing so. Therefore I’d like to be the face of an educational charity for underprivileged children such as AET (Africa Educational Trust) or EdUKaid.

10. What is your biggest ambition?

A couple of years ago I was browsing through my music collection and came across a song called ‘Clinging on for Life’ by the Hoosiers. It was such a beautiful song that listening to it brought tears to my eyes. As a musician, it is my biggest ambition to create music which make people laugh and cry, as I did when I listened to that song.
